SCBWI-LI Workshop: The Author, Agent, and Editor Relationship from A to Z

Kelly Bennett, author, Linda Epstein, agent; Liz Kossnar, editor at Simon & Schuster

Gain an in-depth understanding of the children’s publishing industry as an author, an agent, and an editor take you through the process of getting a children’s book published. Get to know and understand the market for which you write. Find out what the author may expect from the agent and editor, what agents and editors do, and how important it is to have a hook in your query that can be used throughout the entire marketing plan. And last but not least, the publishing schedule: from the contract to the revisions, to marketing to launch to debut! Newbie or PAL, this is a must for all!

Schedule:

9:00 - 11:15 : Critique sessions. Four critiques per faculty in one hour. Due to our schedule, no more than ten critiques for each faculty member. PAL members will critique during the same window if more than 30 members sign up.

11:45 - 1:30 : A lovely lunch

1:45 - 3:45 : Presentation
