Guayaguayare R.C School in Trinidad--my last visit as a resident of Trinidad & Tobago--was incredible! Bridge Foundation, a non-profit committed to help TT children succeed brings its "Read to Rise" program to these 1st-4th form students once weekly, invited me to meet the students. Turn around proved to be fairplay and a total blast. After I shared with them, they recited their stories, What if? and a surprising--sort of scary--poem for Norman. Here's 1 pic. Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® 2016 was INCREDIBLE! On October 22, 2015, over 2.2 million children and adults celebrated the 10th anniversary of Read for the Record with Not Norman: A Goldfish Story, illustrated by Noah Z. Jones. Here are a few pics of the day. You'll flip over the pics of everyone reading it up (Norman did). Click over to Jumpstart's Gallery!
Sally Smith, the librarian at College Hills Elementary, in College Station, Texas, caught us two-steppin' during my visit Feb. 2015.
Watchung Booksellers in Montclair, New Jersey, has the lively storytimes! We celebrated Mommys, Daddys and "our" babies April 2011.
When my niece Grace told me the librarian at Caughlin Ranch Elem, in Reno, NV, didn't believe her aunt was the author of Not Norman, I did what any self-respecting aunt would do--I stopped in for a visit. That's Grace with me in the middle.
September 2008, I visited schools in Texas and Oklahoma. I had a grand time meeting the students and teachers and sharing my love of writing-mostly Not Norman stories. These are some of the photos teachers from the schools sent me. Memories of a fantastic couple of weeks!
